The itinerant Innovation Desk was designed at the end of the Solvay Lab in order to present the research projects developed by Solvay. This counter has been conceived in an evolutionary way so that it can bear witness at a given moment.
Its content and format is therefore adjusted according to the targets of the events, the language of the country and the company’s internal news. The counter has travelled on 4 occasions:
– Solvay’s CMD (Capital Markets Day), in November 2013 in London, at the Saint Pancras Hotel,
– The Group Board of Directors, on December 11th, 12th & 13th, 2013, in Brussels, in Ernest Solvay’s house,
– The General Shareholders’ Meeting, on May 13th, 14th & 15th, 2014, at the headquarters in Brussels, on the NOH campus,
– The opening of the Solar Impulse Exhibition, on May 19th, 2015, at Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie in Paris.
Focus sur les produits exposés et leurs propriétés
Le comptoir présente, par exemple : les propriétés ultra-isolantes du galden, les nouvelles technologies OLED qui offrent une luminosité exceptionnelle sur des dalles flexibles très fines révolutionnant la décoration d’intérieur et les écrans LCD, une imprimante 3D faisant la démonstration du frittage sélectif, également le Solar Impulse (premier avion fonctionnant uniquement à l’énergie solaire) dont Solvay fournit notamment les panneaux photovoltaïques ou encore les plastiques alvéolaires ultra-légers utilisés pour le cockpit…
